5 Powerful Herbs and Spices for Fat-Burning

Are you interested in losing weight? Do you find that no matter how much less food you eat your body fat still does not shift? No problems, in this post Five Powerful Herbs and Spices for Fat-Burning, I shall provide brief details on five powerful herbs that can really boost your efforts in losing weight, burning that fat and keeping it off.

Let’s begin with my mantra “Eating healthy” I don’t have to say this, as you know it is important so that you can perform at an optimum level with your mind and body. The food or type of foods you choose to eat regularly controls how you’ll feel, the amount of fat you store in your body and can be an indicator of your overall health and energy levels.

Eating foods that are packed with vitamins and nutritional compounds is an excellent start to losing those extra pounds and burning unhealthy body fats.   Your diet should be a healthy lifestyle choice if done correctly can reduce the risk of High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and many chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease and stroke at the same time help you lose that weight and get in to shape.

Powerful Herbs and Spices for Fat-Burning

Five powerful fat-burning herbs are listed below, there are many more to list, in this post I shall provide the most common herbs in my view, used for effective fat and weight loss.

  1. Black pepper:

Black Pepper has a compound called – Piperine that gives pepper its pungent flavor. Black pepper comes from “peppercorns” which are fruits of a flowering vine, which are spicy due to the natural compound piperine.  Studies suggest that the piperine in black pepper battles fat by blocking the formation of new fat cells. Black pepper was also found to burn as many calories as taking a 20minute walk.  Black pepper also increases the bioavailability of just about all other foods – herbs and other compounds – making it a healthy choice for virtually any meal.

Piperine enhances the effects of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, if taken together, they can be a fat-burning powerhouse I’ll talk about later.

  1. Curcumin:

Turmeric or also known as Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric (nice way to put this line). If you eat curries, then this is the most widely used spice. When you eat Curcumin it slows the formation of fatty tissue by affecting the blood vessels required to form it. Curcumin contributes to lower body fat and weight loss. It has properties that also act as an anti-inflammatory agent and lower insulin resistance.

When combined with fat burning spice black pepper you now have a very effective fat loss solution.  Like many herbal remedies, you will not notice an immediate change in your weight or fat loss.  You need to combine these healthy herbs with an active lifestyle dedicated over a period of time to fully benefit from consuming these herbs.

  1. Garlic:

Garlic is another spice widely used in cooking curries, when taken as a regular supplement it helps burn belly fat. Garlic works to reduce LDL cholesterol, can lower your risk of heart disease, improves blood circulation. In addition, it also moderates oxidative damage from free radicals, helping combat the aging process.

You can eat fresh garlic, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, although it’s not the best of tastes, you can add a spoon of honey to sliced garlic and eat it that way.  Garlic can also be added to salads or other dishes that you cook. There are garlic supplements available that you can buy.  Always read the label and stick to the recommended dosage.

  1. Ginger:

Ginger is another fat-burning herb that has anti-inflammatory properties, it’s a powerful stomach or gut soother. Garlic also has thermogenic properties that help boost your metabolism.  So, what happens when your metabolism is boosted? You have less chance of your foods becoming fat reserves on your body, therefore over time with increased physical activity you will actually start to lose all that stored fat.

Garlic can be taken as fresh small slices, added with honey and garlic together first thing in the morning.  Doing so has many beneficial effects on your body. You can also purchase Garlic and Ginger supplements in capsule form, rather convenient if you find eating fresh herbs difficult.

  1. Cardamom:

Cardamom is a thermogenic – meaning it increases your body heat and speeds up your metabolism if that is correct then taking Cardamom supplements combined with some of the other herbs mentioned above you have an extremely powerful fat-burning solution.  Cardamom also has anti-inflammatory properties, it acts as an antioxidant, cleaning up rogue molecules referred to as free radicals and fight back cellular aging.

Cardamom is also one of the other spices that are widely used in curries, so time to nip out and get an Indian curry with extra cardamom, please!

Where you have existing medical conditions or are taking regular medication, contact your medical doctor before starting on any diet or physical exercise.

The first item to note on weight loss – is that, with age your metabolic rate drops. This is just the truth of the matter as you age your body changes. Your activity level drop, you spend more time stuck to a chair than actually doing any physical activity, this has an impact on your ability to burn fat and lose weight.

This does not mean that you cannot lose weight, simply means you need to be careful with what you eat and how much exercise you do, to burn off those extra calories and fats you eat.

Second fat-burning tip – permanent fat-burning and weight loss is a whole mind/body/lifestyle change. The attitude you develop, your habits, and your mind must change in order to sculpt your body. Can herbs help? Yes, they can, but you have to be willing to make the change for it to work

  • Weight loss herbs – can help you, if you are willing to make the change in your eating and exercise habits.
  • Eating healthy foods regularly is key for the wellbeing of the mind and body when it comes to weight loss
  • Eat garlic, ginger to burn body fat and lose weight.
  • Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated.
  • Cardamom is thermogenic – which increases your body heat and speeds up your metabolism.
  • Curcumin contributes to lower body fat and weight loss.
