Benefits of a Pescatarian Diet

Let’s start with the question – What is a Pescatarian? Don’t worry it’s a new religion.  In this post – Benefits of a Pescatarian diet, we’ll find out what is a Pescatarian and the benefits of adopting this into your diet.

Pescatarian is a person who does not eat meat but does eat fish – there simple I’ve said it!  What a way to go, out of all the religions in the world you become a Pescatarian – said, my mum, when I first came out with it.

That aside, let’s look at the benefits of such a diet.  I know there are some people who totally don’t like eating meat and prefer only fish, that is fine if you complement your diet with supplements that provide you the nutrients that you’d normally get from meat.

You can consume fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and many other things. But as a Pescatarian you must not eat meat – doing so will defile you Pescetarianism.

Pescatarians will mainly eat seafood which is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids linked to improved heart health. Omega-3 fatty acids may also decrease inflammation in the body and lower both blood pressure and triglycerides. You can also purchase pescatarian Omega 3 Oil supplements from most high street health stores or online with Amazon.

Fish like Salmon, mackerel, herring, lake trout, sardines, and tuna are high in Omega 3 fatty acids. It is said by researchers that people who eat seafood one to four times per week have less chance of suffering or dying from heart disease.

In a scientific study done in 2015, it was shown that the Pescatarian diet was linked with a 43 percent lower risk of colorectal cancer compared to those on pure meat diets. The main thing to remember is that fish dishes are a great tasting alternative to the main meat diet. I normally balance my food with meat and fish.

Eat plenty of vegetables, fish and whole grains with meat dishes added into the odd days or every other week.  A normal balanced diet with fish will benefit your health and contribute to a healthier heart, lower cholesterol caused due to eating too much meat.  While eating a healthy fish diet, don’t forget to stay active and do some exercise daily.  This will help you stay fit and healthy.

Pescatarian is a person who does not eat meat but does eat fish, vegetables and other food products.  Fish contains Omega 3 fatty acids which are beneficial to good health and eating fish regularly will lead to a healthy heart.

Fish dishes are a great way to complement your food intake by mixing it with vegetables and other healthy ingredients you can maintain a great alternative to just a meat diet.  Always eat in moderation and try to maintain a healthy balanced diet.  Mix in a little superfood into your diet along with some exercise.  Do it regularly and in short while you’ll start to notice the change.
